I opted to sit down to watch the 2019 horror comedy "Camp Wedding" despite of the fairly low rating that the movie had managed to land here on IMDb. I must admit that I liked the movie's cover, and the movie's synopsis sounded campy enough to actually make for an entertaining enough semi-slasher, I suppose.
Turns out that writers Greg Emetaz and Cara Consilvio just didn't manage to collectively come up with an overly entertaining movie script, much less actually write something with much of any appeal.
The storyline told in "Camp Wedding" was just bland and rather dull. Actually, I found it to be insanely boring and pointless, and there was nothing worthwhile to sit through here. I gave up on "Camp Wedding" not even half-way through the ordeal. Yeah, the movie was that boring and uneventful.
The characters in the movie were one-dimensional cardboard cut-outs, so they didn't provide much of any entertainment, and the acting performances were staggering and faulty at best. Nothing impressive in terms of acting performances to be experienced here. I suppose it was because of the way too inferior script and storyline, plus the utter lack of interesting characters that were serving as inhibitors on the actors and actresses.
"Camp Wedding" was frightfully devoid of both horror and comedy elements, so director Greg Emetaz was just not delivering where it mattered. And it was showing throughout the course of the movie.
I am rating "Camp Wedding" a staggering one out of ten stars, as this was definitely one of the worst horror comedies I have had the misfortune of stumbling upon. Do not waste your time, money or effort on this one. Some of us did, to greater or smaller extend, so you don't have to.
