Brother meet each year to hunt dears. This is a family tradition and now that the father is dead the older brothers keep the tradition going.
The father was a racist, and homophobic man who pounded his beliefs into his sons on just how a man is suppose to be.
Dan the oldest is faced with recognizing his own feeling ( his brother is on the path to enlightenment) . He spouts a bunch of toxic masculinity in order to convince everyone, but mainly himself, that he is a man (father definition)
When the youngest half brother arrive with a secret to revel, it forces Dan to face his own feelings and his own misdeeds because of it.
This Movie tackles a difficult subject and handles it in a truthful manner. Things that happen to us often trickles down into other as we attempt to get control.
This movie was made on a budget (according to the IMDb listing) but feels like a much more expensive movie. Cinematography is beautiful, and interaction between the brothers feel real. So it is easy to overlook any problems (though there isn't many)
Definitely worth seeing.
