I love stand up comedy, i have watched many TV specials, and Louis C. K is my favorite stand up comedian. I really like Bill Burr, Ricky Jervais, George Carlin, Dylan Moran etc, however this guy makes me laugh like no other.
This is not his best work. Actually, this is less good than every other tv special of his. I don't use the word "worse" because i want to emphasize that this is still a very good show. But still, it's less good even than "Louis C. K. 2017". (Up until now, this was my less favorite show.)
Louis seems tired, he doesn't have his former energy. At times, he seems more weird than funny. Something feels off. He was always a dark cynical in disguise, but in order for a show to be good, you've got to balance your cynicism with charm. Otherwise, your stand up comedy will look bitter and sad instead of edgy/provocative.
Louis CK made a glorious comeback with SINCERELY (2020). One of his best shows in years. SORRY(2021) was not as good but still better than the majority of stand up comedies nowadays. Louis must take his time and return to form.
That doesn't mean this show ain't no good. Still I had tears of laughter watching it.
