What sort of a world are we living in when the best thing men of a certain type can think of doing with young, attractive blondes is to rape them repeatedly then murder them? Thankfully the rapes are only implied, and they don't get around to the murders because the damsels escape.
Those of a certain vintage will see the parallels with the 1978 film "I Spit On Your Grave", which was very controversial at the time. Forty years on, films of that genre have long since ceased to shock. Here we have two damsels exacting a bloody revenge on their abusers and would-be killers, and they don't do it by halves. The soundtrack isn't bad, and the cameos are quite good, especially the one with the twin elderly clerks: "My next ride is your Mom", indeed.
This began as a thriller, turned into horror, then turned again, to black comedy. And they all lived happily ever after. Those who didn't die an excruciatingly painful death, one in the fashion of Edward II.
