I waited for almost six months for this film to be publicly released so I could watch it, and I confidently say it was the best movie made after the ominous 1978 Revolution. As an Iranian, while watching this film, I completely felt the culture, customs, and traditions of Iranians portrayed in the best way by the director.
Even though the filming did not take place in Iran, the settings, costumes, and the way characters spoke were natural and excellent (which was expected due to the Iranian context). However, what really intrigued me was the precise depiction of the mother-daughter struggles that made the audience deeply empathize, alongside humorous scenes that intensified these emotions even more.
In my opinion, the Iranian families' sense of humor was brilliantly captured in the movie, and the cinematography team and director portrayed scenes from the old era very close to reality.
Truly, it was the best Iranian film made after the 1978 Revolution, and I never felt like I was watching an Iranian-American film because everything was distinctly Iranian.
The actors were all superb, and the dance scene at the wedding was absolutely magnificent.
The only flaw I noticed in this film was a few mass dance scenes that resembled Indian dances and didn't feel Iranian. However, overall, this movie rates above 9.5 compared to all Iranian films ever made.
Its rating in the global cinema, in my opinion, could be between seven and a half to eight.
