I watched this last night with my wife, and we were sorely disappointed. We had seen the trailers, and thought it looked like it would be a good movie. Then we read some of the reviews, which more or less confirmed our reaction to the trailers.
Then, we actually saw it. Nothing happened. The whole thing could have been crammed into a half hour show. There was too much talking, and by that I mean there was too much wasted dialogue, and the characters were talking too fast to make it worthwhile.
I'd like to say there was action, but there wasn't any. I'd like to say there was suspense, but there wasn't any. I'd like to say we felt something for the characters, but we didn't.
With the ending, we were like, "That's it? A cheap knock-off of Close Encounters?" So yes, two stars. That's being generous.
