Ec*ing the sentiment of other reviews: this anime seems to be mostly tailored to young children. The story isn't deep and rather predictable, there are few (if any) real consequences and there is a lot of boasting and repetition in dialogue.
Admittingly, the first episode contains a pretty epic fight scene where the view revolves around the fast-paced action in an exciting manner! However, this is also the ONLY fight where this occurs for a long(ish) time. This makes it feel like some sort of bait since the rest of the anime either barely utilizes this gimmick and when they do insert it, it usually lasts only for a few seconds at best. A missed opportunity.
There is little character development other than their abilities 'powering up', as it were. Expect certain characters to primarily s*ut a lot (and I mean A LOT) , cry or be utterly flabbergasted all the time. (Also expect a lot of gasping, weird throat sounds and dumbfounded expressions even 70 episodes in)
Watch this if you are young or a big Dragon Quest fan, otherwise there are better series that deserve your time. Or play the game where they primarily use scenes from the anime any*w.
