I went into this movie wondering why it had 3.3 stars when the preiview looked so good, so I might have been paying a bit to much attention to detail in the beginning. But it seemed like this movie got a great location; the house has some amazing details THAT WE ALMOST NEVER GET TO SEE because the camera tends to stick to the same angles or focuses on the actors. Honestly, most of the movie takes place in the kitchen from two camera angles.
As for the script, it seemed like the writer was trying to hard to be casual? The actors were certainly giving it their all, but it was rather awkward at times.
That all being said, I forgot about all those things around the halfway point and was invested. I stuck around for the end. All in all, I didn't hate it. Can't say I recommend it, but I wouldn't be put out to watch it again. The scares, once they really got going, were pretty good, though I personally hate gore and this could have done without.
EDIT: It occurs to me now that I assumed some things at the end of the movie that were never actually said. So I suppose the movie doesn't really explain much itself.
