When Hulkamania arrived to WCW and when Hulk Hogan won the WCW Championship belt he would only wrestle against guys who he personally trusted, and so Kevin Sullivan formed a faction with Ed Leslie (previously known as Brother Bruti but now known as The Butcher) and John Tenta (previously Earthquake, now known as Avalanche). Hulk Hogan and The Butcher would headline WCW Starrcade 1994, a main event that many fans didn't want to see. The booking of this main event drew a lot of criticism towards WCW and Hulk Hogan seeing as many believed it should've been Big Van Vader getting a title shot at Starrcade. The Three Faces of Fear ended after Sullivan defeated The Barber on PPV, and immediately after that victory, the Dungeon of Doom storyline began.
