Charles T. Rubin is the Marie-Clement Rodier Endowed Chair Professor at Duquesne University. He earned his B.A. in philosophy and political science at Case-Western Reserve and a Ph.D. in political science at Boston College. A recipient of the Madison Visiting Fellowship in the James Madison Program for American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University, Dr. Rubin is a contributing editor at The New Atlantis. His current research and publications focus on emerging technologies, such as nanotechnology and artificial intelligence, and the idea that they will allow the redesign of humanity. He is editor of Conservation Reconsidered: Nature, Virtue, and American Liberal Democracy, and he is author of The Green Crusade: Rethinking the Roots of Environmentalism and Eclipse of Man: Human Extinction and the Meaning of Progress.
