Four models go on a photo shoot at an abandoned house previously belonging to the infamous Kandie family. Little do they know that Jonah Kandie still lurks there, seeking revenge on anyone that comes near after being scarred beyond recognition by his father as a young boy. One by one, the models soon become the victims of the vicious killer's merciless hatred for all things beautiful.

You can always tell the reviews that were written by someone involved with the film because they always praise the things everyone else claims is a problem. From the start of the movie you can tell that the sound editor can't do his job right (yet you'll read comments on how good the sound was). Background noise threatens to drown out the dialog. The reactions of the actors are so bad its like they didn't try. One guy doesnt believe that the killer is really Jonah or that Jonah is alive, when he finds out he's not even surprised. Later, one of the guys survives an attack and makes it back to tell the group with little enthusiasm. The rest of the group, finding out that one of their friends were killed, smile and joke around in conversation. Yeah, that's believable. Great acting. The story has no depth. The acting and sound is horrible. And the kills are just cheesy. Don't waste your time.

This film is so bad and not in a laughable way. Almost every single acting performance is insanely awkward and honestly pathetic. Furthermore, the SOUND. I watched this film on DVD (bought it for a dollar at Dollar Tree) and the imbalances in sound were horrendous. The plot itself was just overtly cliché. Slaughter scenes were conducted mostly off-camera. Girls' screams were obnoxious. Ending was rushed (but at the same time couldn't come soon enough). Part I enjoyed the most was a deleted scene where which a few actors sit smoking a pipe and discussing religion, the afterlife, and Lent. Why did I watch it? My internet went out....

Heading out for a weekend photoshoot, a group of models and the crew arrive at a secluded campground and begin working, but when they start mysteriously disappearing they come to believe the local legend about a serial killer running loose in the area and try to find a way to get away alive. This one was a rather enjoyable effort. One of the films' more enjoyable aspects is the backstory and setup that plays into traditional genre tropes. The information about the supposedly possessed son is the kind of perfect small-town story for a film like this. It moves seamlessly from the type of gossip present which transitions to becoming the legend that not only causes the family to ignore his existence but also the impetus for his rampage against the models' beauty. That aspect carries over to the film's incredibly brutal and oftentimes sadistic torture scenes. Abandoning the concept of most slashers where the killer stalks them then attacks in short shocking bursts, the killers' tendency to engage in extended sessions where he plays with the victims and cuts into them in several stages makes for a fun time here as the enhanced gore from these types of kills provided plenty of messy highlights. These here are the film's big points which hold it up over the flaws. The film has a few minor problems with it. One of the films' flaws is the lack of an imposing killer as despite the impressive setup to get it going there's little else here to make us fear him. He seems like every hulking, scared backwoods madman hacking his way through teens and trespassers on his land which gives him a generic boogeyman feel and tone. The look of the mask is serviceable with the flesh covered skin but the lack of detail in the face and a strand of hair braid dangling off the side create a comical look more than anything, also giving this one a somewhat grander low-budget feel that runs throughout here. The other issue is the laughably convoluted and contrived storyline that completely undermines the actions present. The crew here discovers the bodies of their dead friends and yet split up to go searching through the woods for a missing group member who got separated, yelling their name out to alert the killer which is a wholly illogical and unrealistic approach rather than the more realistic abandoning the shoot and leaving. The lack of urgency there makes no sense either, and the entire last half comes off as if it were one comically inept scene after another leading them back to get killed. These here are what hold this one back overall. Rated Unrated/R: Extreme Graphic Violence, Graphic Language and Nudity.

Wow! How the hell is money available for horrible crap like this? Its not even a bit entertaining. Most of the actors were terrible. The plot terrible. The story..terrible. Getting the idea? TERRIBLE!!!!!!! Save yourself. Watch anything else

When you watch horror movies/slasher movies, what keeps you invested? For me it is the cast, here not only is there a great cast, but some real standouts. Now everybody knows Ari Lehman in the slasher world as the "kid Jason Voorhees", but I have been watching some great indie slashers here lately and Ari is all in the horror mix! Having cast a horror vet in a slasher flick only adds to the appeal to me, kudos for bringing him on board. Another standout for me was Don Kilrain as "Jonah" who was our masked madman. With a name like KILRAIN, you expect to have one badass mother____%#^!!, and Jonah is that! Another standout was Molly Miller as "Tiny". Tiny was an interesting aspect to this film, she brought the "humanity" out of Jonah, and I don't know if that is such a good thing! It was also nice to see Janine Sarnowski as "Luna" she did a great job and was kickass towards the end. The plot for this one is straight up, you get a tragic past that creates this villain...who has grown to despise "pretty people"., so what do you think happens to a group of models that cross paths with this creepy brute?!?! Let's just say, beauty is only skinned deep! This movie boasts a rather large body count, not once was I bored, superb pacing! Being a fan of iconic killers like Jason, Freddy and Chucky, what works for them is their motivations for killing. Jonah has his own unique reasons for killing, one that would make for a nice urban legend to share with others around a chilly campfire! What brings this slasher up a notch from others is not only motivations, but the kills. This movie was pretty brutal, and dare I say offered up some inventive demises. I won't share all of the gory details but the one involving chains with hooks towards the end of the film really made me squirm. I think Jonah has more to do, with that diabolical mask and his ability to select from a wide variety of "kill tools", I think this is one character begging for sequels! I always look forward to reviewing these indie films, many boast about being a "homage" to the 80's, while I think others just do. With this one I do get a little nostalgia from that decade, it's almost a mix of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre with Jonah's brutality mixed with a little Twisted Nightmare! I say give this one a peep creepers, two very big thumbs up!

SCARRED is a very typical example of your indie horror movie. It sees four girls heading off to an abandoned building in order to shoot photos for their modelling portfolios. Cut lots of posing in underwear and bikinis for what seems like forever. Eventually, a masked killer goes on the rampage and begins bumping them off one by one. The second half of the film is full of torture *-style kill segments which are dealt with in an uninteresting and distasteful way while the film as a whole is made without grace, flair, or wit.

Chompcrc here. Horrendous acting, writing, lighting, and especially the sound. ADR should not be used for the majority of a movie. Watch a YouTube video, and learn a few things before your next project. Please. This movie seriously felt like a late night Cinemax flick. Man, this was bad.

It's the long piece of hair hanging off the killer's mask for me. I laughed the whole time. I get it being low budget, but the killer was just hilarious to me.

Four models go on a photo shoot in a remote woodland area. Said woodland area turns out to be the stalking ground for horribly disfigured psycho Jonah Kandie (a creepy portrayal by the hulking Don Kilrain). Writer/director Eddie Lengel relates the familiar, but still enjoyable and engrossing story at a steady pace, takes time to develop the characters, makes good use of the sylvan setting, maintains a take-no-prisoners nasty tone throughout, and delivers a handy helping of bloody gore, with the moments of sadistic violence packing an especially savage punch. The bevy of hot gals in skimpy apparel provides some tasty eye candy. Original Jason Ari Lehman and Playboy model Lisa Neeld are amusing as a couple of locals while Molly Miller contributes an impressive turn as the feisty Tiny. Alas, the movie kind of fizzles at the end. So overall nothing new, but competently done and hence worth a watch for slice'n'dice horror fans.

Four models, a photographer and a token fat guy go off to "the lodge" for a photo shoot, except they camp out in small tents instead. Whatever happened to those large green canvas monstrosities anyway? There is the story of Jonah Kandi who apparently died with no one bothering to find a body. A midget claims he is still alive. This is a slasher film, so I can't imagine there be much of a plot spoiler except for "final girl." The film had a low budget sound system that was choppy and ill suited. Too much outdoors sound at beach, too much munching when midget was eating, and other sound had an echo effect. Typical slasher with various implements including a chainsaw and other questionable brand new items. Appears to have originally been released in 2013 under the groan title "Kandi Land" without much fanfare. Guide: F-word, sex, nudity (Jessica Lauschin) Minus a star for crappy sound.
