Malik was the main leader or commander of the battle of Hunain from the enemy’s side. From the battle, he escaped to Ta'if with a big group. Prophet Muhammad (s) decided to go after those enemies. In Shawwal of 8 Hijri, the Prophet marched to Ta'if with a large Muslim army. When the Muslims reached Ta'if, they saw that the people of Ta'if had already closed the city gates and had stocked enough supplies for them to last a year. In the battle of Hunain, the Muslims only lost 4 soldiers but during the Ta'if attack, Muslims lost around 12 soldiers. The attack was very long and continued for more than 20 days. The Prophet finally decided to end the attack and went to Je'rana, where Muslim pilled all the items from the battle of Hunain.
