Making Cultural Infrastructure: can we design the conditions for culture? From it’s conception in 2011, Theatrum Mundi has been concerned with the spaces of artistic production and display in the city. So when the current Mayor of London, in his manifesto, committed to developing a Cultural Infrastructure strategy, Theatrum Mundi assembled 60 artists, writers, architects, and researchers, working across London’s urban cultural fabric to address the following question: What are the infrastructural conditions for culture, and can they be designed into the city?
