On August 20, 2022, at the King Abdullah Sports City Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk faced former champion Anthony Joshua in a highly anticipated rematch for the unified heavyweight titles. Coming into the fight, Usyk was 19–0 (13 KOs), while Joshua held a record of 24–2 (22 KOs). Joshua started aggressively and had success to the body in the middle rounds, attempting to use his size and strength to pressure Usyk. However, Usyk gradually adjusted with his trademark movement, combinations, and ring IQ, taking control during the second half of the fight. In the championship rounds, Usyk’s speed and accuracy overwhelmed Joshua, particularly in a dominant tenth round that swung momentum decisively in the champion’s favour.
