This is how Oba Femi won the NXT North American Title. In December 2023, Oba entered the Breakout Tournament. He faced Myles Borne in the first round. Oba put Myles on his shoulders and hit him with a powerbomb to advance. The powerbomb wasn’t named Fall from Grace at that time. Two weeks later, Oba faced Tavion Heights in the semi-final. Oba put him on his shoulders and hit him with the powerbomb to advance. At New Year’s Evil, Oba said he will fulfill his destiny and faced Riley Osborne in the final. Oba countered the Shooting Star Press, threw Riley into the turnbuckle, tossed him like he’s nothing and hit him with the powerbomb to win the tournament and get a contract for a shot at any title. A week later, Lexis King challenged North American Champion Dragon Lee and he accepted. Oba said he will use the contract whenever he wants to, adding that he will destroy everyone like he did in the tournament. Lexis appeared, saying he has a shot at the title and tried to convince him to go after the NXT Title instead. Then Lee faced Lexis. Lee superkicked Lexis and caught him with the Operation Dragon to retain the title. Oba appeared and cashed in the contract. Lee went for the finish, Oba countered him, put him on his shoulders and hit him with the powerbomb to win the title.
