Back in 90’s when MMA fighters weren’t as well-rounded as they are now, there were quite many fighters with karate background. However, there haven’t been not so many successful karate fighters in MMA in the recent years. One month ago we posted the video about the math teacher and four-time world karate champion Ingiskhan Ozdoev. If somehow you missed this video, the link is in the featured comments. Today we are going to show you pro MMA debut of another fighter from karate world. Vasily Kozlov fought in MMA for the first time on August 25, 2018 at M-1 Challenge event. Being just 21-year old, Kozlov already managed to win the multiple kudo tournaments. He trained in Alexander Nevsky team with coach Eduard Shirobokov. Vasily’s opponent was 10 years older and has much bigger MMA experience. Jurand Lisiecki fought many times in amateur MMA and won silver medal at the national amateur MMA championship in Poland. His pro MMA record was three victories and one draw in four fights. Young karate kid made his entrance to the rage with the accompaniment o Adriano Celentano. He was calm and relaxed before his pro debut, and the fans in the audience were ready to see the spectacular fight.
