Smith started competitively, using his height, reach, and boxing ability to try to keep Beterbiev at range. However, Beterbiev’s relentless pressure, physical strength, and devastating power gradually took over as he broke through Smith’s defence. In the seventh round, Beterbiev dropped Smith twice after a brutal assault.
