David Oliver Joyce chats to IABA TV ahead of the Games. 29 year old Davy , a 3 time European Elite and 6 National Champion is one of the most experienced members of the team and will be representing Ireland at 60kg(Lightweight). Davy speaks frankly about the ups and downs of trying to qualify for the Games since 2007, how former Olympian and World Champion Andy Lee inspired him to keep going when he was younger. He gives some great advice to kids starting out about the importance of education as well as boxing and listening to your coaches.
