Oud Taqsim | Siddharth Kasyap feat. Jayanti Gosher | Atul Raninga | Shaina Lebana | SK Music Works
In bringing instruments to the fore, the instrumental “Oud Taqsim” merges the Arabic stringed instrument Oud, a short-neck lute-type, pear-shaped stringed instrument with 11 or 13 strings grouped in 5 or 6 courses, performed alongside the rhythmic bounce of a djembe, a rope-tuned skin-covered goblet drum played with bare hands, originally from West Africa. “Taqsim” means melodic musical improvisation that usually precedes the performance of a traditional Arabic, Greek, Middle Eastern or Turkish musical composition. So the combined “Oud Taqsim” truly creates unparalled world music with more than a lending hand, literally, from legendary musician Jayanti Gosher on Oud, electric piano from multi-instrumentalist Atul Raninga, bass by Akashdeep Gogoi, guitar by Vinnie Hutton, assorted percussion from Deepak Borkar, Navin Sharma, Girish Vishwa, Vivek Samarth, Nilesh Parab and Shashank Joshi, and composer Siddharth Kasyap himself handling the djembe. With roots and reminisces of the success of Sting's collaboration with Cheb Mami on "Desert Rose" at the turn of the century, “Oud Taqsim” is another equally accessible introduction to contemporary music connecting to the sounds of North Africa/the Middle East. Balancing Arabian rhythms with modern dance beats and Ouds with electric guitars, Siddharth Kasyap’s instrumental, “Oud Taqsim”, firmly indicates how musicians have integrated traditions of several countries into a single genre of modern world music. #OUDTAQSIM #SKMusicWorks #NewArabicSong #Shainalebana #ArabicHitSong Credits Audio: Music Composed by Siddharth Kasyap Oud Jayanti Gosher Electric Piano Atul Raninga Music Producer & Atul Raninga & Rishikesh Kamerkar Keyboard Programming Prashant Patil Bass Akashdeep Gogoi Guitar Vinnie Hutton Percussion Design Late.
