How to Throw a Right Push Kick (Teep) | Muay Thai Fundamentals
The right push kick, or rear teep, is used in Muay Thai to disrupt rhythm and control distance. Execution begins by stepping slightly forward with the lead foot while maintaining a stable guard. The rear leg then extends forward as the hips drive outward to generate pushing force. Swinging the rear arm downward helps stabilize the body and add momentum while the opposite hand remains active for defense. The technique can be used to break an opponent’s forward pressure or create space to reset positioning. In this lesson, Kru Jack and Yodchai demonstrate the correct mechanics and structure for an effective right teep.
