At just age 24, Aly Taylor was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer after discovering a small lump in her breast during a self examination. Aly's doctor in her Louisiana hometown encouraged her to seek treatment at MD Anderson. For six months, Aly received chemotherapy. She first underwent 12 weeks of Taxol, followed by 12 weeks of Fluorouracil, Adriamycin and Cytoxan (FAC). After that, Aly underwent a bilateral mastectomy, followed by 30 radiation treatments. She then had several breast reconstruction surgeries. Now, six years after being first diagnosed, and five years being free of cancer, she traveled with her husband Josh back to MD Anderson, but no longer as a patient, now as a survivor.
