🥊 FIGHT DESCRIPTION: Undefeated welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. successfully defended his IBF crown with a dominant stoppage victory over former world champion Lamont Peterson in the main event of SHOWTIME’s Saturday night card at Barclays Center. Making the first defense of the title he captured from Kell Brook last May, Spence (23-0, 20 KOs) controlled the fight from the opening bell, outclassing Peterson (35-4-1, 17 KOs) with superior speed, power, and sharp technical boxing. The bout was waved off before the eighth round began after Peterson’s trainer, Barry Hunter, decided to stop the contest.
