Versus screens were introduced with patch 7.00 to replace the old "map overlooking" loading screen, where you waited for players to load since Source 2 moved to preloading the map. The versus screens were expanded upon in 2019 with the TI9 Battle Pass, when Valve added two new ones and replaced the old arcadey style fighting game versus screen with the one we still have today. Unfortunately, most versus screens in this video are no longer used, or obtainable, since they were either used as an event versus screen, or were obtained as an exclusive reward from a Battle Pass :(.
