Rdojo: Reilly Bodycomb 2015 Texas Training Camp Tournament
At Reilly Bodycomb's 2015 training camp at Ground Dweller's BJJ in Spring, TX we held an in-house tournament for the camp attendees. The winners of the two weight divisions won a camp championship t-shirt and $100! The rules are quite unique. On the feet you can score 3 points for a big throw or 1 point for a takedown. If a grappler pulls guard and can not get into a submission position right away then their opponent scores 1 point. On the ground we do a completely unique but simple scoring system. Someone is always scoring as long as you are on the mat. The grappler on top will score 2 points for 'riding time' if he remains on top for 15 seconds. However if the grappler on the bottom has a submission oriented position (this includes a triangle, armbar, leg control, back control, kimura, or guillotine) then they are scoring 'catch time' if they can keep it for 15 seconds. After one player scores the 2 points for riding time the ref will tell them to get back to work. If they do not get on a submission right away the match is reset on the feet. If a grappler is in one of the 'catch positions' they will be allowed to remain on the ground until the opponent escapes or they get the sub. There is no time limit. The first person to get a submission or score 9 points wins. to learn more, or to check out a Reilly Bodycomb seminar go to www.rdojo.com
